I remember this. There's a bug in the modlog display which makes it possible for entries to be missing from the modlog page. It's an incredibly stupid bug to be still around after this length of time, I forgot but I guess I just assumed it would be fixed by now. IDK, maybe talk to your admins or something.
You absolutely did misrepresent what the other person was saying. They said that they didn't trust anything coming out of Hexbear, which makes perfect sense to me. You claimed that they "confidently discredit and doubt trans users despite doing no research into the subject," which is something totally different. They didn't doubt any trans users (they doubted Hexbear's self-report about their number of trans users), and they *had* done "research" into Hexbear which was why they reached that conclusion.
If you just wanted to say "Well I trust Hexbear even if you don't, so IDK what you're on about," then it's fine, but you always have to take it to this bizarre extreme where the other person is transphobic and also needs to do "research." It's an inherently slanted viewpoint where you are right and the other person is wrong (and also their views are caricatures of what they actually said). I can't understand why it is confusing to you that you get banned sometimes when that's how you interact.

I do get where you're coming from now that you spell it out but I think it's a big stretch.
