Hast du das mal wirklich quantifiziert? Gab doch diese Studie, dass Programmierer denken sie wären mit AI schneller, beim Nachmessen aber rauskam, dass sie eigentlich langsamer sind.

Das hab ich erst diese Woche wieder bemerkt. Ich wollte ein eigenes Theme in Shopware 6 schreiben und Felder definieren. Also hab ich mir gedacht “Sowas einfaches wie ein paar custom fields, das kriegt ChatGPT doch locker hin, da muss ich nicht ewig lange Doku lesen”.

Es hat mir dann ein Theme für Shopware 5 gebaut. Drauf hingewiesen, dann hat es ein Theme so halb für Shopware 6 gebaut, aber die Definitionen für die Feldübersetzungen verkackt. Namespace auch verkackt, sodass es nicht gebaut hat, weil die LLM zu dumm war zu raffen, dass ABCTheme in a-b-c-theme.js umgewandelt wird.

Nach 30min Rumgegurke hab ich einfach die Doku gelesen (die zugegebenermaßen ziemlich scheiße ist) und es selbst gemacht. Hätte ich auch gleich so machen können und mir die Zeit gespart.

Man merkt einfach, dass ChatGPT auch an seine Grenzen kommt, wenn eine Doku sehr rudimentär oder unnötig kompliziert geschrieben ist. Es kann sich halt nur Zeugs aus dem Internet ziehen und daraus wahrscheinlich die richtige Antwort generieren.

Ich sitze am anderen Ende eines “Programmierers” der nur AI code committed.

Das ist die absolute Hölle, vor allem wenn man Kollegen hat die mit “good enough” und “funktioniert ja irgendwie” zufrieden sind und denen es völlig egal ist, was für Code sie da committen.

Ich hab das nicht mehr ausgehalten, weil das gesamte Programmiererteam außer mir so gearbeitet hat und vor 5 Monaten den Arbeitgeber gewechselt. LLM’s können bei repetitiven Taks zwar echt hilfreich sein, aber wenigstens ein kleines bisschen Anspruch an seine eigene Arbeit sollte man schon haben und nicht einfach alles stumpf übernehmen und irgendwie zusammendengeln.

I run my own mail server with rspamd. It learns spam automatically based on the emails I move into the Spam folder and gives new incoming mails a probability score. If the probability of an email being spam is over a certain threshold, it gets moved into the Spam folder automatically or deleted entirely.

It works extremely well! But I also share my mailserver with a few friends and we have a collection of spam that spans ~20 years, which is a great dataset for training tools like these.

Give Voyager one final, long episode with a proper sendoff (instead of the half-assed one they did), where we can see how the characters actually ended up in the coming years. With an epic orchestral soundtrack, at least one really good space battle scene and a lot of pathos, it deserves it! ST: Picard is also considered non-canon (the first two seasons have been a shitshow and the third was just nostalgia-bait anyway). So nothing that happened to Seven of Nine in that plotline ever officially happened and the final Voyager episode can utilize some talented writers to make it good.

Absolutely. I’ve been using it for a month and it feels like Google, but before they enshittified. DDG was my previous goto search engine, but it’s gotten really bad as well. Especially the aggressive keyword replacements drove me almost insane.

This is so true. I worked at a callcentre for two years, doing crazy shifts for more money, with lots of overtime and short weekends…it was my first job. I liked the money and because I was young and stupid, I wanted to prove myself and did way more than I was paid for.

The people that worked there for many years saw it coming and told me to take it slow or else I’d burn out. I ignored them and the signs my own body gave me. When I was tired, I went to the coffee machine and made myself a triple espresso. “Here we go again!”

Then came the day where I tried to go to work and just…stopped functioning. I sat at my desk with the headset on and couldn’t do anything anymore. I never felt so tired in my life and fell asleep on the toilet in the company bathroom. I still remember my dad driving me home and falling onto my bed, but not a lot else.

It took 1.5 years to get my energy back and the first few months are just a blur. I must’ve slept for weeks, with the occasional toilet breaks and some snacks in-between. Worst of all, I never regained all of the energy I had before that happened. Burnout is a bitch and what I did back then will follow me for the rest of my life.

I have a computer with two Pentium 3 processors (2x1.4GHz) and 4gigs of RAM that would be technically capable of running it, albeit a bit slowly.

It’s like the holy grail of retro computing and not that common - but that’s not the point! :D

Überrascht mich zwar nicht, aber ich bin trotzdem enttäuscht.

I’m a big cinema fanboy, so up until last year I went to the cinema every week. It was 14km away from me, so I had to cycle on my bike a lot. That was really healthy!

But now I’ve moved into a new apartment right next to the cinema and I’ve grown quite large. I’m still figuring it out being a lazy bastard now.

Hab am Wochenende beide Staffeln Peacemaker geschaut und nach dem Finale von Staffel 2 bin ich der Ansicht, dass James Gunn einfach ein Hurensohn ist.

Abgesehen davon erhole ich mich grad von einer Erkältung. Der Schnupfen ist zwar weg, aber die Müdigkeit kickt immer noch hart. Mit zwei Kaffee und ein bisschen Arbeit auf Sparflamme werde ich den Tag heute sicher auch überstehen. Das Projekt zieht sich seit August, da kommt’s auf einen Tag mehr oder weniger nun auch nicht mehr an (hoffentlich liest mein Chef das hier nicht :D).

Teams ist eh so ein kompletter Misthaufen, ich bin davon überzeugt, dass das eigentlich niemand benutzen würde, wenn es nicht im Microsoft 365-Abo mit drin wäre.

Manchmal ruft mich jemand in Teams an und ich bekomme es nicht mit, aber eine Stunde später dann eine Benachrichtigung, dass ich einen Anruf verpasst habe.

Die Nachrichten synchronisieren sich zwischen dem Smartphone- und dem Desktop-Client nicht instant, sodass man auf beiden Geräten einen anderen Stand hat und nicht immer die neusten Nachrichten sieht (wie kann man sowas verkacken?).

Anhänge legen sich manchmal über den Text drüber, den man geschrieben hat, sodass man ihn nicht mehr vollständig lesen kann.

Ich bin generell ja nicht dafür, US-Unternehmen abzukulten, aber Slack ist in allen Belangen so viel besser. Teams wirkt, als hätte man Slack auf Wish bestellt.

Immerhin bin ich MS sehr dankbar dafür, dass sie keinen Linuxclient mehr anbieten und ich im inofiziellen Teams-Client von so Dingen wie “Luftballons die durch das Bild fliegen, wenn man Daumen hoch macht” und “automatischer Statuswechsel wenn man den Mauszeiger nicht bewegt” verschont bleibe.

Solange sie keine Rechte haben, um DROP TABLE users; auszuführen…

I found the story intriguing, but the time loop is way too short. Every time it gets interesting, the world resets, you have to get back into the rocketship and fly back to the place you’ve been before. It’s an absolutely unneccessary padding mechanic.

Undertale. I tried playing it a few weeks ago, but the controls are clunky and the story isn’t really entertaining. It was just boring and annoying.

Not the point, but they’re the bad guys for other reasons. Walled garden, bad repairability etc. Their update policy is really solid, though.

It’s new devices coming onto the market. So if they existed before June but they are still being sold, the rules do not apply to them. But new models that are coming out now have to have software support.
