Does it feed more beasts then using github in general does?

People have hooked up scripts to automate trade based on celebrities using certain hashtags or other data for years.

A non insignificant portion of people has absolutely hooked up an ai to it. I don’t know any, but i take that bet in a heartbeat.

Some will do it responsibly, as an experiment with money they are prepared to loose.

Ai companies themselves might try this as an internal test, like how atrophic has claude managing a real vending machine (which got manipulated into selling tungsten cubes following customer feedback)

Others have probably completely destroyed their own lives. A few may have lucked out.

If its critical, don’t give it to ai without having a secured backup it can’t touch.

There is some truth into this reasoning.

But not like this. Not in this climate, not until ai based tools can actually demonstrate any benefit in aiding an artist instead of trying to replace them with low quality slop.

The best lies are build on a grain of truth and that they speak out about this at all is a big tell to how they would rather move.

But we should acknowledge, npc ai, dynamic ingame weather, the decades old blending tool in Photoshop Technically many things are ai or could benefit and i don’t hear many people discuss where to draw the line exactly.

Personally i’d say, at generated images and text/scrip. But i have been day banned on a no-ai place for mentioning npc ai before.

I wish more projects did stuff like this.

It just feels silly and unprofessional while being seriously useful. Exactly my flavour of software, makes the web feel less corporate.

There are custom themes out there that change the interface.

Right click -> identify-> Title name, has yet to fail me.

Its been a long time since i used plex so I can’t say how much “easier” its over there but compared to the days before streaming this little upfront work takes less time then going to a physical store to rent.

Maintenance takes no work and it cant be enshitificated (someone will just port it)

I don’t know why it works but if i rename a .webp extension into a .png or .jpg it just works.

If you want to put in some work i can highly recommend self hosting a nextcloud/owncloud, maybe together with some family members.

Something more obscure you can do is create a shareable public link with or without password to share large files with whoever you want.

On the downside, whenever i see a professional use we transfer or the like i cringe massively.

I sometimes contemplate if i rather lose an ear or an eye.

On the surface an eye seems so much more important but vision with one eye is still mostly the same vision with one corner cut out where hearing from one ear is instantly very disorienting.

Also i believe different notes hit my brain differently depending on the ear, hence why stereo is the norm.

Is this open source? I may want to self host if.

It was my first taste of an open world rpg with quests when i played as a kid.

Yeah, for this reason i don’t plan to outright ban roblox and the like. I don’t want to be a fun-dictator.

Its also important that kids learn to deal with the reality that these games/practices do exist around them, and at some age i wont be there to guide every decision.

But there will definitely be “a talk” before i install anything remotely like it. Being capable of understanding the dangers is a requirement to get acces.

People have been trying to get me to play runescape again, but as far as i see/hear its just grinding numbers like a 3d fantasy cookie clicker.

Instead of wanting a video game as a present… They want a bunch of resources for the video game they already play.

And here i was assuming that with all the gamer parents, kids where going to be guided towards actually good games.

I am not sure what you mean with pov that no one else’s understand because many of my European friends speak english on top of native language.

What i can attest is that each language has its own expressions, saying and emergent philosophy that is not always translatable in other languages.

The language you speak/think directly influences what and how you think. Knowing multiple is therefore a very enriching experience.
